These are the questions people put to us through the form and at the consultation, grouped the way they are asked. The price for the face, neck and eyes comes first because it is asked most; the number is given in writing at the free consultation, and the rest is answered here. Price
How much is Ultherapy for the face, the neck, the jawline or the eyes?
Ultherapy is priced per session and per area, confirmed in writing at your free consultation, with a price match on any comparable written quote and interest-free finance through Humm, subject to status. Consultations and follow-up reviews are free. A quote for the jawline and lower face does not carry the brow unless you want it.
How many shots or lines are included, and is there a package price?
The number of lines is set for your face at the consultation, by area and by depth, and the written quote states the areas and the total.
Does the consultation cost anything?
No. Consultations and follow-up reviews are free, and you can book one from abroad by phone or through the form.
Results and sessions
Is Ultherapy worth the money?
For mild to moderate laxity in someone with a body mass index of 30 or under, in our clinical judgment yes. It is one session, most people are back at work the same day in our experience, and the lift builds over three to six months and holds for around a year in our experience. Reviewers who did not know which photograph was taken first saw a lift in 86% of brows and 58% of lower faces in the published studies; a modest, natural change, which is what Ultherapy gives.
What is the success rate?
In the published studies, reviewers who did not know which photograph was taken first saw a brow lift in 86% of patients at 90 days and an improvement on the lower face and under the chin in 58% of 93 patients, and a 2025 pooled analysis of 42 studies found investigators rated 89% improved, though its authors caution the figures may overstate the effect. In the 2014 study, more than half of patients with a body mass index above 30 showed no change, which is why we check it at the consultation.
How long does it last, and how often do I need it?
Around a year in our experience, with a repeat session considered after 12 to 18 months. The how long it lasts page covers the timeline.
How many sessions do I need?
One. The whole area is treated in one visit and the collagen builds for three to six months afterwards.
Does Ultherapy hurt?
It is for most people uncomfortable rather than painful, in our experience: each line of ultrasound gives a brief deep heat and a deep ache, strongest over bone, rated around 4 to 6 out of 10 in the published studies. The clinician sets the energy and the comfort plan for you, and the discomfort usually eases when the session ends, though tenderness can last up to two weeks.
Is there any downtime?
Very little. Redness for a few hours, swelling for a day or three, tenderness for up to two weeks; most people are back at work the same day, in our experience, and makeup can go on the next day.
Which areas
Can Ultherapy lift my eyelids, or treat under-eye wrinkles and eye bags?
Not directly. The manufacturer's label says the energy must not be placed on the eyelids or inside the orbital rim, the bone around the eye. Treating the brow, which is cleared in the US, lifts the skin above the eye and opens the eye area, which is often what people asking about hooded lids want. Under-eye bags, dark circles and the lines right under the eye are outside what Ultherapy treats, and the clinician will say at the free consultation what does. The eye area page and the brow and eyes page explain.
Does it work for the jowls and the jawline?
Ultherapy is cleared in the US to lift lax tissue under the chin and on the neck, and in our clinical judgment early jowls and a softening jawline tighten with it. A 2014 study on the lower face found reviewers who did not know which photograph was taken first saw improvement in 58% of 93 patients. A full double chin is fat first and skin second, and Ultherapy does not remove fat. The jawline page and the neck and jawline page explain.
Is there a risk of fat loss?
It has been reported: one case among 506 patients in the published studies, and more often among voluntary reports to the US regulator, which carry no rate. The clinician places the energy with live imaging at the depth chosen for each zone. If you are slim in the face, say so at the consultation and the plan changes. The can it go wrong page sets out the risks plainly.
Do you treat the stomach, or loose skin after weight loss?
Yes. Ultherapy was cleared in the US for the abdomen and the upper arms in 2025 and for the knees in 2026, and we treat all three, as well as other body areas where loose skin can be tightened, including mild to moderate loose skin after weight loss. The clinician plans the areas with you at the free consultation.
Can it reduce pores or treat scars?
No. Ultherapy lifts and tightens; it does not treat pores, scars or pigmentation. Morpheus8, which we also provide, treats texture and scars, and the clinician plans the right one.
Who it suits
I am 70. Is Ultherapy still possible?
Yes, where the skin keeps some elasticity. Our clinicians use a simple rule of thumb: if a fold at the jaw springs back when you let go, Ultherapy may tighten it; if it stays, that is more than Ultherapy lifts. We tell you which at your free consultation.
Is it suitable for darker or tanned skin?
Yes. The manufacturer's label covers adults of every skin type; fewer studies include the darkest skin types, so tell the clinician about a tan or a history of pigmentation and the plan is set for it.
Can I have it with threads, filler or an eyeliner tattoo?
Tell the clinician about any thread lift in the area; dermal filler needs four weeks and the clinician keeps the lines off it; an eyeliner tattoo sits on the eyelid, which the label keeps out of the treatment area. Bring the details to the free consultation.
Can I have it while breastfeeding, or with a medical condition?
The manufacturer has not evaluated pregnancy, breastfeeding, bleeding disorders, active skin disease, autoimmune disease, diabetes or epilepsy, so the clinician decides case by case at the free consultation, and in pregnancy and breastfeeding we do not treat. Open wounds, cystic acne and active or metallic implants in the area rule it out.

Compared with other treatments
Is Ultherapy the same as HIFU?
HIFU stands for high-intensity focused ultrasound, and Ultherapy is a focused ultrasound treatment. Merz describes Ultherapy PRIME as the only FDA-cleared ultrasound with real-time imaging, and Ultherapy also has the three set depths and the clearances and studies described on these pages. We provide Ultherapy; the clinician will say at the consultation whether it or Sofwave, a different ultrasound we also provide, suits your skin.
Is anything better than Ultherapy?
It depends on what has changed in your face. For a brow, chin or neck that has loosened, Ultherapy. For an early drop, EMface, which we also provide, works the lifting muscles as well as the skin. For texture, scars and crepey skin, with a few days to recover, Morpheus8, which we also provide. For fine lines and a lighter lift, Sofwave, which we also provide. The clinician plans the right one, or the order, at the free consultation.
Do you offer Ultherapy PRIME?
Ask at the free consultation and the clinician will tell you which Ultherapy system the clinic treats with; according to the US regulator's summary, both deliver the same ultrasound energy and the same face and neck indications.
Booking and the clinic
Is the clinic doctor led?
The clinic is doctor led and CQC registered, and every session is run by a trained clinician on a genuine Merz Ultherapy system.
